The Society for Animation Studies presents four awards for scholarly work. The Norman McLaren/Evelyn Lambart awards for best monograph, edited collection, and article, as well as the Millie Young Practice-as-Research Award, are presented on alternating years and are judged by a panel of peers. The Maureen Furniss Award for Best Student Paper on Animated Media is awarded annually to students.
